Counselors in Residence

Briana Renae McGee, AMFT, APCC
Counselor-in-Residence
I believe true healing begins when we embark on a journey towards Holistic Wellness, our need to have balance in our mind, body, and spirit. Through a holistic and integrated perspective, I provide therapy that assists others in how they view and approach the many challenges that life can throw. My focus is working with People of Color, Trauma, Chronic Pain, Anxiety, Depression, and both Intergenerational and transgenerational challenges. I will bring intention and attention to our work through a vessel of transparency, empathy, compassion, connection, and spirituality to empower you to be fully aware of where you are and what you need.

Renee Shanee Tate, AMFT, RYT-200
Counselor-in-Residence
As a foster youth alumnus and survivor of sexual trauma, I had to choose between continuing the harmful coping and patterns that were negatively impacting my well-being or breaking free from the generational cycle of trauma that I found myself living. I chose the latter and believe my life experiences can provide resonance, a helpful tool in providing empathy which is important for every journey towards healing. My passion is working with people of color and trauma survivors to break cycles of transgenerational trauma to create new paths, traditions, and coping strategies for a healthy well-being. Understanding that therapy does not have a one-size-fits-all approach, I am adaptive to each client’s needs and goals. My approach is of a strength-based nature using mindfulness and relational therapy techniques, interwoven with threads of narrative therapy. “Your healing is in your hands” – India.Arie

Keri Anderson, ASW
Counselor-in-Residence
I credit my upbringing for propelling me into a world of social justice and psychotherapy. As a South Los Angeles native with an extensive background in community organizing, my personal and professional experiences have led me to using my gifts of non-judgment and empathy to address the social determinants of trauma, physical illness, anxiety, and depression. For these reasons, my focus areas are People of Color, Intergenerational Trauma, Chronic Illness, and Community Organizing.

Don Nocon
Counselor-in-Residence
I specialize in couples work, sexual issues, trauma, and in Brainspotting where I am working towards certification. I have a collaborative approach with a body-centered awareness to our work in the therapeutic room. Couples work is done with a goal of helping you both to better attend to each other’s needs. As a Filipino-American, I celebrate the intersectionality that I myself experience. Immigrants can live with a multiplicity of diversity issues. I am interested and have first hand knowledge in helping the LGBT community, especially those coming out of the Church, the closet, and reparative therapy.

Counselor-in-Residence
My approach to therapy is rooted in curiosity and non-judgment, incorporating embodiment, mindfulness, and humor. In our work together, we will explore what an experience of wholeness and embodiment feels and looks like for you, collaboratively strengthening the muscles of self-soothing and self-accountability. Our work will also bring particular awareness to reconnecting the mind to the messages of the body and to the rhythms of nature. I have particular experience working with compulsive behaviors, life transitions, relationship to food, body image, spiritual exploration, and the Highly Sensitive (HSP). For couples, we will address challenges collaboratively, establishing effective tools and skills to communicate boundaries and needs, and deepen intimacy.

Hola! I am a bilingual therapist, I offer services in English and Spanish. I identify as a Chicana/Latina woman and I specialize in working with Latinx women. I work from a holistic approach and believe that what happens in our body is just as important as what happens in our mind. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness techniques and breath work into the therapy room to help bring insight and self-awareness. My main focus is to create a space where you can be yourself and work collaboratively on your needs, strengths and goals.
